FAST-BALLS THROWING TRAINING VIDEOS

Below are videos demonstrating how to apply Position Player FAST-Balls in your regular throwing and defensive practice drills.  Repetition with using these training aids in these types of drills, position players at all levels will develop and sustain better natural skills necessary for throwing the baseball.

POSITION PLAYER FAST-BALL: GRIP EXPLANATION

Forefinger and Middle finger placement:

  • One finger on Black side of 4-Seam FAST-Ball

  • One finger on White Side of 4-Seam FAST-Ball

  • Both fingers in the middle of the wide part of the panel

  • Finger tips on seams

Thumb placement:

  • Place thumb on under panel of 4-Seam FAST-Ball

  • Thumb should split forefinger and middle finger

POSITION PLAYER FAST-BALL: THROWING TECHNIQUE TRAINING DRILLS

When throwing the Position Player FAST-Ball into the air, look for clear and distinct Black/White “Half Moon” to determine successful throw.

  • Add Position Player FAST-Balls to any technique or warm-up drill

  • Look for Black/White Half Moon 

POSITION PLAYER FAST-BALL: CATCH PLAY AND WARM UP TRAINING

When throwing the Position Player FAST-Ball into the air, look for clear and distinct Black/White “Half Moon” to determine successful throw. 

  • Players stand on level ground 30-50 feet apart

  • Throw Position Player FAST-Ball with fluidity

  • Look for Black/White Half Moon

  • Focus on Form and Accuracy

  • As loosening up, increase Speed and increase distance standing apart

  • Players can begin working on natural flow with catching, transferring, and throwing the FAST-Ball without looking at it for proper gripping

POSITION PLAYER FAST-BALL: INFIELDER TRAINING DRILLS

When throwing the Position Player FAST-Ball into the air, look for clear and distinct Black/White “Half Moon” to determine successful throw.

  • Coach hits Position Player FAST-Ball as ground ball, line drive, or pop up to Infielder

  • Infielder secures baseball in glove (with help of throwing hand)

  • Infielder quickly transfers baseball to throwing hand and throws to intended target

  • Look for Black/White Half Moon

  • Focus on Form and Accuracy first, then Speed

  • Infielder should have natural flow with fielding or catching, transferring, and throwing the FAST-Ball without looking at it for proper gripping

POSITION PLAYER FAST-BALL: OUTFIELDER TRAINING DRILLS

When throwing the Position Player FAST-Ball into the air, look for clear and distinct Black/White "Half Moon" to determine successful throw.

  • Coach hits Position Player FAST-Ball as fly ball, line drive or ground ball to Outfielder

  • Outfielder secures baseball in glove (with help of throwing hand)

  • Outfielder quickly transfers baseball to throwing hand and throws to intended target

  • Look for Black/White Half Moon

  • Focus on Form and Accuracy first, then Speed

  • Outfielder should have natural flow with catching or fielding, transferring, and throwing the FAST-Ball without looking at it for proper gripping
